We have been to Kamchatka twice and found it to be all it is advertised to be. Fish real wilderness areas for big Rainbows that take mice and dry fly readily. Salmon may be limited, but Char are also numerous and also take dries.

          Ouzel expeditions hosts our trips on rivers of their choice. This ensures the best fishing with little chance of seeing other groups. They supply all camping equipment (except sleeping bag), cook, guide and interpreter. However, our experience is that all their Russian staff understood our English.

          Travel is to Anchorage and then to Pertropavlovsk, Russia. Budget $2800 for entire airfare. A Russian visa ($150) is also necessary. Fishing packages are $4950 for a week. Group size is 8. This is a real adventure. You will see plenty of bears - all at a safe distance! There is also the opportunity to sight see a rural Russion city of 250,000, but not much shopping!
